IRESC Turkey will be activating Mt. Uludag in the city of Bursa at an altitude of 2100 for the purpose of emergency communications training, raising awareness and creating new bonds between amateurs. We extend our warm invitation out to all of you. We sincerely hope you can join us on this special event, and we also look forward to working with you.
This event is organized by IRESC Turkey and RAMAD unions. IRESC is a worldwide coalition of volunteer communicators, with dedicated members spread around the globe. Help can be provided at all times of the day or night. The main objectives of IRESC are to foster efficient collaboration between Radio Amateurs, extending friendships across the world and providing international emergency communication in times of need when all else fails.
There will be approximately 25 amateurs on Mt. Uludag from Istanbul HQ, Bursa, Izmir, Bodrum and Marmaris branches of IRESC, activating several stations simultaneously:

End: Sunday, 25/09/2011, 13:00 UTC
Modes: SSB, SSTV, PSK
Bands: HF, VHF
Call Frequency on VHF: 144.300 (SSB)

We will be posting active frequencies on DXSummit and on IRESC Turkiye, Facebook Group. All you have to do is become a member of IRESC Turkiye Group on Facebook. Here is the address:
Please note, this event will be a special challenge on VHF since the distance between TA and SV stations will be farther than the possible maximum line of sight. Don't forget to bring your largest beams/arrays. May the tropo gods be with us. :)
